Eid Mubarak!

After the month of Ramadan, Muslims get together and celebrate their achievements during the blessed month in a celebration called Eid ul-fitr. It's one of the two Eids that are celebrated by Muslims and lasts 2-3 days. The first day was celebrated by many across the world on Friday and events are normally hosted to celebrate too, so you can imagine how busy the weekend has been!

Since I, too, have been bust and haven't managed to create a new post because of it (yes, I do normally take three days to put 1 post together and 2/3 of those days have been occupied this time round) I decided to make a sweet, short post today (whilst enjoying some Eid songs) for consistency's sake.

So, here is a poem on Eid that I once wrote:

A Blessed Day

There was a knocking on our door,

A knocking we've all heard before...

The blessed month, our desar guest has left,

They will be very much missed, but it's for the best.

After their leave, we are left to enjoy

A day of celebration and plentiful joy.

New clothes, sweets and more reunions

As the world celebrates together in unison.

It's a day everyone has looked forward to,

A day where no one is left feeling blue.

A day with smiles and laughter everywhere.

A day you just cannot compare.

Eid Mubarak!
