We often get caught up in what we are doing and what we have to do next in order to reach our next milestone. We think about the past, the present, the future, yet, even with all this thinking, we look at what we’ve done but never actually see it. We don’t pay attention to it, making whatever achievement we have reached feel worthless.
That’s the problem. We do not celebrate our wins enough and we need to do that more often. We should all take a little break after our hard work and celebrate our wins, no matter what it is or how small they are. We deserve it. Even if we think we don't.
Of course the win has to be in accordance with the achievement. Don’t go all out for something small; and don’t undermine a big milestone with a small celebration. Give the big wins big celebrations and the small wins small celebrations.
What you want to celebrate is entirely up to you and what matters to you. It could be an exam you completed, a goal you set yourself and reached or a promotion at work that you got. You could celebrate alone, or with others. And how you celebrate doesn’t matter because it is all up to you. Dinner, watching TV, buying yourself a treat, doing something you enjoy are all different ways to celebrate - just as long as it makes you feel happy and you feel rewarded for your achievement.
When you celebrate your wins, you’ll see that you become a lot more positive and content. After all, it’s a form of self-care and self-love so do it regularly because you are doing something good for yourself. But also do it in moderation. Don't celebrate too much before you end up prioritising the celebrations over the actual work.
That’s all from me today. I’ll see you in my next post! Now, tell me your win for today. ;)
